Katerina meets the twins

The twins are in the NICU, they were premature and underweight. Monkee is less than four pounds and Bunny is barely over four. Katerina is recovering from surgery and preeclampsia and thus tied to her hospital bed by an IV drip that keeps her groggy so it is days before she gets to meet these beautiful children. I am living, it seems, in a blur between Katerina's hospital room, the NICU, our car and very brief visits home to feed the cats and change clothes. Somehow I manage to always look fabulous.

It is a series of beautiful moments when finally Katerina is able to leave her room and visit the twins in the NICU.

Day 1. November 21st, 2012

A crazy start to a crazy ride. It started as lunch with Dad before what was supposed to be a few routine doctor's visits, 14 hours later the twins entered the world in a frightening, endurance testing, funny (thanks to Tom & Harry) and emotional way.

Short version; an emergency caesarean at 2:00 in the morning. Our wonderful doctors; Mussalli and Worth, went to great lengths to get me into the OR to be there. I cut the cords thanks to a nurse from Montana.

Monkee at 2:21 old.
Bunny at 2:30 old.
